The BMC announced that wearing a mask is not mandatory any more with effect from Friday, April 1. There will be no penalty for not using a mask, though, the administration has urged citizens to use masks voluntarily.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced that there will be no penalty for not using a Covid preventive mask from Friday, April 1. The administration has urged citizens to use masks voluntarily as the infection is not completely under control.
At present, as the incidence and spread of coronavirus is being controlled, the restrictions imposed are being relaxed. However, the threat of coronavirus has not yet been completely averted throughout the world. A polite appeal is being made by the BMC administration as a precautionary measure asking to protect themselves from Covid-19.
Outbreaks of the Covid-19 virus have been reported worldwide since early 2020. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), wearing a face mask protects against coronavirus and stops the spread.
